Grants and Awards, 2015- 2016
Tucked away in the botanical gardens of
Snug Harbor in Staten Island is an authentic
Chinese Scholar garden, built by native
Chinese and replicating the gardens built in
China during the Shang Dynasty (1300AD).
Along with touring the beautiful grounds and
admiring the architecture from a cultural
standpoint, my students will be able to create
beautiful brush calligraphy during a
90-minute lesson.  Grant included a Class
trip, plus lunch, and global studies with DVD.
We added funds for classroom magazines.
The teacher mentioned that, even though it
is an art lesson, I believe this field trip will
open the eyes of my students
